After last night’s GOP presidential debate many are hopeful about Ron Paul being elected president. Many believe that Ron Paul’s views are very different from the mainstream, but now his message is resonating with a lot of Americans. Last night the GOP presidential candidates went head to head in a debate. Many of the issues plaguing the US were talked about but one voice emerged over the rest. Ron Paul was given a lot of air-time to make his points which some people have complained about. Is a new era of political thought around the bend? Kristine Frazao is in Iowa to tell us more.

Today President Obama is meeting with the highest ranking lawmakers to discuss the on-going issue of the debt ceiling. One person who won’t be there, however, is Texas congressman Ron Paul – he is away on his first official presidential campaign, and in his latest ad in he gives his answer to the great debate over debt. Paul has said “no” to the question of raising the debt ceiling time and time again. To talk more about it, L Randall Wray, a professor from the University of Missouri, joins RT’s Kristine Frazao.
President Obama and Vice President Biden have just had yet another meeting with top lawmakers hoping to reach an agreement about the debt ceiling. One of those absent from the meeting, but who doesn’t agree with Obama’s suggestion, was Ron Paul, a congressman from Texas. Yesterday he exchanged some heated remarks with Ben Bernanke over the way Congress and the Fed have dealt with some of these problems during the last three years. Rep. Paul also asked Bernanke about what he sees as an important fix to some of these economic woes – gold. To talk more about the issue RT has Scott Carter, CEO of Goldline.
